A better way to work

work we can feel good about... that's what we're about

A willingness to work hard is key, but taking time to laugh and have fun is just as important in our book. While we may not have all the perks of a big corporate job, we think what we have is better...

Bottomless coffee with so many brewing options!

Current options include a Keurig (of course), an Aeropress, a French Press, and an Iced Toddy Maker. If none of these work for you, you may need to lower your coffee standards just a tad.

Flexible schedule and up to 25% remote hours if you need them.

In the digital world, we know you can work from anywhere. Wanna Skype into a meeting? Work on a project via Slack? Screenshare via Go To Meeting? We can generally accommodate that.

Parent-friendly work environment.

We are working on creating a designated space for breast-pumping and breastfeeding, and we’re happy to make accommodations for newborns and snow days!

Weekly happy hours.

We like to end the week with a cold beer, a glass of wine, or an adult beverage of your choice. It’s a good way to reward ourselves for a week of good work.

Decently-stocked beer fridge.

You never know when there might be a beer emergency, so we like to stock up… just in case.

Better-stocked snack cart.

Nobody wants to work with someone who’s hangry.

Professional development.

Is there a conference that we should be at? A relevant class you want to take? We’ll do our best to get you there.

Birthdays off.

Because that’s really how it should be, right?

Oh, and we also offer a competitive healthcare package, of course.

Open Positions

Internship Opportunities

If you are studying rhetoric, writing, photography, communication, graphic design, women’s studies, philosophy, film, PR, or anything else that might come in handy in the digital marketing realm, we might just be looking for you!

UPDATE: We currently accept a maximum of one intern per semester. Although we do offer the potential for paid internships, all interns must agree to complete a 30-day, unpaid trial before qualifying for a paid internship. Paid internships will only be offered to candidates who exhibit a willingness to pitch in wherever needed and who are willing and able to assist on revenue-generating projects before the initial trial period is over. Other perks of interning with us include byline opportunities, bottomless coffee, a well-stocked snack cart, and flexible scheduling.

you should be

  • Someone who eats, breathes and sleeps digital media. Is your smartphone glued to your hand? Good! Is it an iPhone? Even better!

  • Reading Digiday on the daily. Or at least following them on Twitter.  (Follow @dotcommonpeople too while your at it!)

  • Ready to get your hands dirty, so to speak… or maybe literally. You just never know around here!

If interning at a start up sounds both exhausting and exciting (but more exciting), send us an email with a link to your LinkedIn profile. Or a resume, if that’s your thing.

Freelance Opportunities

Are you someone who loves the freedom of freelancing but likes the idea of working on long-term projects and being part of a team?

We’re always looking to add to our roster of trusted freelancers for copywriting, videography, graphic design, website design, and more. If you’ve got a skill you think we can use and you’d like to be a part of our core team, tell us what you’ve got to offer!

If we think you seem like a good match, we’ll always start with a (paid) test project to see if we’re a good fit. And if things work out, we’ll use tools like Basecamp, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Slack to stay connected. In emergencies, we’ll even accept phone calls.

  • A rocking portfolio
